Cottage Garden Restoration
A traditional cottage garden in the lee of the Malvern Hills, lovingly tended for decades and then left to its own devices for a few years. The owners wanted the romance of the original planting back, but with paths that worked, beds that drained, and a small terrace where they could sit out in the evening.
We rebuilt the structure first — reset the flagstone path, regraded the borders, and put in a low retaining wall in reclaimed brick. Then we replanted in keeping with the original palette: hardy geraniums, foxgloves, alchemilla, lavender along the warm south wall, and a David Austin rose by the gate.
